For the past 5 years Soul in the Park has been running for free in Barrow Park. All proceeds raised during the course of the event are donated to different local charities.
Soul in the Park is a free to attend event where they take over the bandstand in Barrow park, and present Northern Soul and Motown DJ’s who volunteer (for free!) to play records from their amazing vinyl collections. This is an incredibly kind and generous thing for these amazing people to do.
They run a collection and raffles, and every penny goes to the nominated charity. Last year they had about 1500-2000 people in the park, all enjoying the music and the sunshine.
The park people allow the people to bring gazebos, tents, blankets, and picnics. This year the event will be on Sunday 17th July and we have been nominated to be the recipient charity for 2022, and we cannot thank Brian and his team enough for this! So get yourselves down for some free entertainment, bring your family, a picnic and a blanket and enjoy some fun in the sun!
