A wonderful, lovely young man raised money in memory of his cousin Ruby Lea 💗 Freddie opened an Emotional Café, where tea and cake fetched a small price, but hugs were free! What a star! We are sure all who attended had a fabulous time and some amazing hugs. Freddie’s café raised £1,185 which is frankly incredible. Every penny will go back to helping other families, and as ever we are so thankful for the support given to Bluebell.

Thank you so much to Freddie and to everyone who helped him set this up! We are super grateful for all your support 😊 Thank you so much!

Freddie

Our Mission

Bluebell works in the South Cumbria area to provide free support for people experiencing grief associated with loss during pregnancy, the death of a baby, child or young person, those with fertility issues and families where a child has a life-limiting or life-threatening illness.

We also provide support for children and young people up to the age of 18 who are grieving through the death or anticipated death of someone important to them.

We hope to enable families to begin to understand their grief. We cannot replace the life lost but we can try to help people cope with the loss.

The Bluebell Foundation was formed in 2007 by a group of people local to Barrow-in-Furness who have been through similar or the same experiences. They felt setting up this charity would help people in the community through such a traumatic time, and help them talk to other people who have suffered the same or similar loss.

Bluebell provides support to families and individuals when they are ready. You do not need to wait a set amount of time. We are available for you when you feel the time is right.

Where Do We Work?

We offer our service free of charge at the point of contact to those in the South Cumbria area. We can also support people from further afield if they are willing travel to our office to do so!

If you are unsure whether your area is covered, please do not hesitate to ask us by contacting us. We can put your mind at ease and do all we can to help.

In 2020 We were approached by the Royal Navy team for Boat 6, the HMS Agamemnon, who offered to become our affiliates.

We are proud to announce they are our official affiliates, and they have do absolutely stellar work in raising our profile and helping the Trustee team out at key events. They have also raised a lot in donations for us, and we could not be happier to have them as our affiliates.

Thank you to all the team from Agamemnon!
