Welcome to the Bluebell Foundation Website
The loss of a pregnancy, death of a baby, infant or child, or the struggle to conceive can have a real impact on the families involved.
The Bluebell Foundation provides support for people experiencing grief associated with loss during pregnancy, death of a baby, child or young person, those with fertility issues and families where a child has life-limiting or life-threatening illness.
We also provide support for children and young people up to the age of 18 who are grieving through the death or anticipated death of someone important to them.
We hope to enable families to begin to understand their grief. We cannot replace the life lost but we can try to help people cope with the loss.
The Bluebell Foundation was formed in 2007 by a group of people who have been through a similar or the same experiences. They felt setting up this charity would help people through such a traumatic time, and help them talk to other people who have suffered the same or similar loss.

The Bluebell Garden
This is dedicated to all children who have died during pregnancy, at or after birth or during childhood.
It is a place to remember, meditate and pray. A place to come away from the hospital for a quiet time.
The garden is situated in the hospital grounds of the Furness General Hospital, Barrow at the top of the lower car park.
Cumbria Way
On June the 21st 2014 a number of like minded people are going to run the Cumbria Way in relays. There are five legs the shortest being 11 miles (17.5km) and the longest 15.5 miles (25km). Each team will complete one leg and then join all the runners for the last few miles into the finish at Carlisle. There are plenty of places available for runners. So, if you are capable of running these distances on trails and on the fells in any weather conditions, please get in touch. The more people we have the more money we make for both Bluebell and Macmillan. All money raised will be split between the two charities. We also need people in support roles too.(The event organisers do reserve the right to either change plans or stop people running due to safety reasons, this is a tough challenge!)
